Spark was an agouti doe with a white snip and two white front feet. She was born in 2015 and came to us because her owner had left home and she became difficult to look after with a mucky bottom putting her at high risk of fly strike. Luckily we had a place for because Dandelion needed a partner and we had nobun to his liking here already having tried him with several prospective partners over the winter with no success. And fortunately the match worked. They get on very well indeed and Spark is really enjoying it here. She is very friendly and always looks cheerful. She wasn’t at all well when she got here but a course of antibiotics to clear a bladder infection brought her back from the brink. She remains rather bony on top but her enlarged belly has reduced with probiotics and she is now keeping herself clean although I am of course still checking her regularly. At first I didn’t think she would be with us for long but she shows every sign of being determined to make the most of every minute and to stick around as long as possible. On rainy days she rattles the doors to make me let her out (I am cautious about either she or Dandelion getting wet during fly season and sometimes put them inside in a stable to exercise instead) and when she is out spends all day socialising with the neighbours, digging, sunbathing in various vantage spots, foraging and begging for tidbits from passing humans.
