Paprika is a very fluffy ginger and white lionhead doe born in 2017, part of an accidental litter. She came here in October 2017 along with her parents and littermates when their previous owner moved as they are going to require a lot of extra grooming because of their coats. She lives with her parents Tamarind and Thyme. They are far too adorable to look real but they love getting in a mess and they all usually sport a not particularly stylish hay hat tangled into their manes hanging over their faces. They are hence known as the Hayface family. The other members are Saffron, Turmeric and Tarragon.
In spring 2020 Paprika who had been bullying her mother Tamarind for some time finally went too far and injured her and had to be removed from the group. She spent some time alone before I plucked up the courage to try her with Corinth who had a few serious fights to his credit too, most recently having a huge bust up with Nightshade after they had been together for a month. I proceeded very carefully keeping them well away from other rabbits for ages, first in a stable and then in the courtyard by the house until I was sure they were happy together. Even when I put them back into the main sanctuary I put up screens so they couldn’t see the neighbours or Corinth’s sisters when they were out and about as it was them whose flirting set Nightshade off. They have been out there for a few months now and seem to be getting on alright so hopefully it will last.
